Keeping Hope Alive

I have a note on my quote board that says “A prime function of a leader is to keep hope alive.” I look at this board every day and it’s one of the things that reminds me that as instructional leaders we need to remember to keep hope alive by supporting our colleagues.

Eden and I were talking about this one day and so Eden came up with a simple and great way to Keep Hope Alive with our staff. Using Google Slides, a Google Form and the Google Sheets Add-On Autocrat, she created a form that staff could fill out in order to send a nice little note to another staff member. It’s a simple concept, but brings a tiny bit of joy to our lives to get the email saying someone has appreciated you.

Here’s the one I left for Eden.

And the one she left for me. (I may have been in a meltdown and said that I was ready for a cigarette and scotch at 8:30 in the morning. I should note that I did not have a scotch and cigarette and I did go for a walk.)

Here’s a video of how to set this up.
